was called in to study and explore the options of a severely
leaking roof and deflection of the main roof beams constructed
some eight years before. The final solution was to remove the
existing concrete tile roof, add steel joints over the existing
structure to conceal sagging decking between the beams, and
finally add a structural standing seam metal roof which could
span between the new metal joints. The project restored the
Church's pride in their Sanctuary - and for the first time,
they do not worry when it rains.
					   Buoyed
by the success of the Sanctuary repair, the congregation turned
to the expansion of their on-site school. Daryl Hawkins worked
with the Building Committee to design a new, two story building
to house over two hundred children for their successful school,
and provided facilities for Sunday School and Adult Bible study.
For the first time, Pastor and Staff offices will be in one
place, under the new roof of the Church Classroom Building!
Opening ceremonies were celebrated in August 2000! |
