Walker serves JHW Architects in the capacity of Project
Architect, stepping aside after 22 years as a Principal
in 2002 to pursue travel and outside activities. He joined
the firm as a Partner in 1980, bringing twenty years
experience in Southern California and on the Central
Coast. As Project
Manager for the Seagram/Coca Cola Winery in Gonzales,
he managed the construction document preparation and
supervision
for the warehouse and bottling facility, tasting room
and the award-winning gallery. Ken was Designer/Project
Architect
for the Hyatt Regency Monterey Conference Center and
Room Additions, and followed that project with work for
the
Carmel Foundation-Norton Court Senior Housing, Monterey
Institute of International Studies Segal Library and
McCone Faculty Offices, and the Naval Postgraduate School’s
Public Works Complex. His recent design of the Roy Woods
Commercial Building in Carmel Valley is featured on the
pages of SKETCHES and was the scene of the Village Affair
Gala in 1999.
Ken
and wife Marilyn are avid travelers, and enjoy dining
in pubs from Scotland to Durango Colorado. They have
recently moved to a new home in the pastoral setting
of Los Lomas, close to family and lots of good fishing.
They have two daughters, Courtney and Teresa.
