Boris “Bob” Jacoubowsky
was a founding member of JHW Architects and had completed
over thirty years with the firm in 1999. No longer active
on a daily basis, he serves as a design consultant to
the firm, working with Daryl Hawkins and Ken Walker to
develop projects as required. During his career on the
Central Coast, Jacoubowsky served for ten years as Chairman
of the Architectural Review Board to City of Monterey
and was a City Planning Commissioner, as well as Board
Member to EDC of Monterey County and AIA of Monterey
Bay. He has designed a wide variety of distinctive, timeless
landmark projects such as the Monterey Institute of International
Studies Segal Library and McCone Center, The Monterey
Herald Offices, Bernardus Winery and Tasting Room, West
Marine Products Headquarters, Carmel Foundation’s
Norton Court, and many private residences.
In
his spare time, he enjoys sailing his boat , MYSHRINK,
on Monterey Bay and crewing for a friend in local races.
Boris and wife Barbara are the proud parents of four
offspring: Nina, Tamara, Lauren and Nicolas.
